There is a public carpark on the beach at Uphill, this being testement to the hardness of the sand exposed at low tide! Many people walk here, often with dogs. From here there are great views of Brean Down, Falt Holm Island beyond, and the very tidl mouth of the river Axe. A few boats remain. The Axe was a busy local waterway for trade in earlies centuries. An important area fot the estuary’s birdlife!
